Andrew Gentile is a Psychologist licensed in Connecticut, USA, and Ontario, Canada. He received his PhD in clinical psychology from Hofstra University and completed his predoctoral residency at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital in New York City. Prior to that he completed a two-year research fellowship at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden where his research focused on developing Internet-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) interventions for Body Dysmorphic Disorder delivered to a global patient population. Dr. Gentile continued this line of work with a post-doctoral fellowship at MindBeacon, a Canadian mental health tech startup (now owned by CloudMD) where he worked with a team devoted to increasing access to treatment, delivering Therapist-Guided Internet-CBT to clients across Canada.
Dr. Gentile’s provides Cognitive Behavioral Therapies for adults with a wide range of clinical problems. In addition to working with depression and anxiety disorders, he has specialized focus working with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder, and clinical presentations that include chronic emotion dysregulation. He has received specialized training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for a variety of diagnostic presentations. As such his focus goes beyond just symptom reduction. Instead, he works collaboratively with clients to help them build fuller, more meaningful lives that are in line with their own chosen values.
